    The Kijani Simple Pouch introduces zipper installation.  It was designed to compliment the Kijani Crossbody Bag but is perfect all by itself.

    It is a beginner friendly pouch which can be made in any material but is geared towards a 100% cotton for ease of sewing on a domestic machine.

    Skills included are:

    • Using zipper by the yard
    • Zipper tab
    • Fold over zipper end
    • Turning bag through the lining (aka “birthing”)

    Material Required:

    • 1/4 yd cotton (exterior}
    • 1/4 yd cotton (interior)
    • 1/4 woven interfacing
    • 1/4 yd foam
    • 8″zipper

    The Kwanzaa Triangle Clutch introduces a center pocket along with firm stabilization.

    This was originally featured in the December 2021 – Sew Your Bag box.

    It is a adventurous beginner tote which can be made in any material but is geared towards a 100% cotton for ease of sewing on a domestic machine.

    Skills included are:

    • “Birthing” a bag through front opening
    • Using decovil light or other light stabilizer
    • Internal divider pocket attached to the bottom and sides of the bag
    • Twist lock … the easy one.

    Material Required:

    • 1/4 yd cotton (exterior and accents)
    • 1/2 yd lining fabric (interior)
    • 1/2 yd woven interfacing
    • 10″ x 20″ piece of foam (fusible or fusible)
    • 1/4 yd Decovil Light or equivalent stabilizer
    • Twist lock
    • Gusset Clip (optional)
    • Swivel Clasp (optional)
