The Kijani Crossbody Bag introduces a different zipper installation.  It was designed to showcase 2 different ways to install zipper by the yard.

This was originally featured in the September 2021 – Sew Your Bag box.

It is a beginner friendly tote which can be made in any material but is geared towards a 100% cotton for ease of sewing on a domestic machine.

Skills included are:

  • Drop in lining
  • Reversible adjustable straps.
  • Exterior slip pocket including gusseted cell phone/eye glass pocket
  • Creating a double sided strap using cotton webbing.
  • Installing interior zipper and zipper placard closure
  • Adding handle hardware

Material Required:

  • 3/4 yd cotton (exterior and accents)
  • 1/2 yd cotton (interior)
  • 1 yd woven interfacing
  • 1/2 yd foam
  • 1/8 yd non-woven interface
  • Scrap yard Decovil light
