The Melesi Divided Tote introduces construction of an internal divider pocket and a welt slip pocket.
This was originally featured in the November 2021 – Sew Your Bag box.
It is a adventurous beginner tote which can be made in any material but is geared towards a 100% cotton and waterproof canvas for ease of sewing on a domestic machine.
Skills included are:
- “Birthing” a bag
- Creating a strap using waterproof canvas and cotton
- Internal divider zipper pocket attached to the bottom of the bag
- Welt slip pocket
Material Required:
- 1 yd cotton (exterior and accents)
- 1/2 yd waterproof canvas(interior)
- 1 yd woven interfacing
- 30″ x 30″ yd foam (fusible or fusible)
- #5 – 12″ zipper
- Purse feet (optional)
- Double sided tape (optional)
